Maximise your child's potential

About Us

Welcome to Wild Child Occupational Therapy!

We offer a holistic, child-centred service taking into consideration the whole child in order to help them to maximise their potential to engage in everyday life. We offer a dedicated service and specialise in neurological and genetic conditions with complex presentations, such as cerebral palsy, brain injury, genetic and rare conditions in children & young people living in Greenwich and Kent.

We strive to help children and young people feel confident to be themselves and our work involves their families and supporting adults at home and school, so that they also feel empowered to help them to achieve their goals. These may be in the areas of physical movement, meeting early developmental milestones, learning, play and social development, self-care and independence.

We would be happy to support and guide you through your child's journey.

What is
Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is a form of therapy that helps people, (in our case, children) to participate in, achieve or maintain their independence in activities that are important to them at home, nursery or at school. We refer to these activities as 'occupations'.

An Occupational Therapist will assess the child, their environment and how they interact with it. We provide therapy and support children to develop the skills they need to engage in and be as independent as possible in their functional daily activities. This can include play, self-care tasks like washing, dressing and feeding themselves, learning and social skills.

Difficulties in these areas can be due to physical (fine or gross motor) skills, developmental or sensory differences and can  significantly impact a child's participation, self-esteem and potential.
